Astology stopped doing any actual tracking of the sky centuries ago. Based on past observations, the sun is in the constellation of Libra on my birthday. So, they call me a Libra. Nevertheless, this ignores seasonal precession which means that the sun is no longer in the constellation of Libra during mid-October. Also, under some old constellation systems, Libra was considered to be part of Scorpius which reduced the signs of the zodiac to eleven. The zodiac is simply the circle of constellations that contain the ecliptic, the path of the sun through the sky.

I have no idea what my actual "sun sign" is except that it ought to be about two constellations away from Libra.
