I think I'll go out and stimulate the economy for a little while today

I've got a minor case of the blues today for no apparent reason. I've heard that shopping can help alleviate that. I need a clock to hang on one of my walls and I think I'll try that new Mexican joint I've been meaning to check out.

What helps you get through a minor case of depression?

1. Make sure you go to a locally owned place

2. DU helps me sometimes

and sometimes I have to go out in the garden and massacre a whole lotta weeds while pretending that they are Republicans.

3. No weeds to massacre in my condo community

The landscaping guys get that privilege. But maybe a walk around the place will help. We have beautiful grounds here.

4. It's winter so I can't weed either

but going outside in the sunlight can help a lot.

7. When I feel bummed, I do something for someone else.

I don't know why it works for me; maybe because I have absolutely no expectation of reciprocation. It just makes me feel really good to do something unexpectedly nice for someone else, even it's a small thing like washing my mother-in-law's windows while she's away for an afternoon. :shrug:
