2. That is so cool.
I knew they did charity work. Just wasn't familiar with what they did in that regard.

3. truly awesome. I raised a young boy
a foster child, for most of his life. He was able to go to Camp Quyon and had a wonderful time.

I LOVE their honey crullers and apple fritters. A Timmies just opened in my neck of the woods (Jackson MI) and I think I'll have to go pay them a visit.

:)

6. Yes it is.
I wish there was one near here. I think the closest ones from here are Ohio, Michigan, or Kentucky.

7. Yummy!
We have them every couple of blocks or so where I live. Really.

The muffins are amazing. And the donuts, and the pastries...

;-)

I'm going to Calgary next weekend so I'll be able to actually taste all that goodness first hand.
Can't wait!

8. I agree.
I'm American, but I love Tim Horton's. Their coffee is superb. :-)

Apparently, there are Tim Horton's in upper New York state, but that's it, stateside. I wish they would branch out in other areas here...like Chicago.

9. I see from their site that there are a number of them spread around.
But damn, this brew beats Starbucks by a mile. :)

I wish they'd come to the Cities at least.

13. They're all over the western N.Y. (Buffalo/Niagara Falls) area -
I grew up there, and it really wasn't until I had moved away (around 20 years ago) that they really just skyrocketed! Krispy Kreme came into the area a few years ago with a lot of fanfare, and were totally out of business some 2-3 years later!

14. I don't know who the parent company is
but they own both Tim Horton's and Wendy's. They put TH right next to Wendy's and then closed the Wendy's which was always busy. That rather pissed me off and the TH's is always empty.

For coffee though, I prefer our local roaster, Rockcity Coffee.

15. Damn, why does there always have to be a parent co.?
I do liken Tim Horton's blend to the Swedish coffee I had at IKEA. It's a similar taste.

16. Tim Hortons is a Canadian icon
It seems like 3/4 of the city I live in (including Mrs. E and me) is at Tim Hortons for a double-double and timbits at some time during the weekdays, and on weekends, the other 1/4 gets in line, too.

And Tim was a helluva Hockey player, too:

And I've been to several of them. You'd think I'd pay more attention. :-)

or at least make their goods more easily available to get over the internet or mail order.

27. Well, I don't drink coffee
and I fear the Timbits wouldn't taste so good coming out of the mail. Mostly I just miss the fond memories of hanging out there with friends at one in the morning.
