Doubtful.

21. Many of them don't.
And worse, many of them THINK they do, but don't.

3. As much as anyone can understand anyone else.
There is definitely a sexism barrier. Men rarely understand a world full of sexism. But overall I think people rarely understand other people very well regardless.

5. Shit, I don't understand most other men.
I don't think I SHOULD "understand" (whatever that means) women.

I understand me.

Wow...that's scary. :scared:

13. I don't understand most men
I used to think I understood women better than I think I ever really did understand them.

6. Yes. It's called empathy. It works on men AND women,
and it's very underdeveloped in our culture.

17. I love you.
Usually to understand someone, it means a willingness to listen. The opposite gender (of whomever you are) aren't "strange, mysterious creatures", they're people. Ask and listen. (You beat me to the response too!)

11. I don't fully understand my own self, so I damn sure don't get the rest of you
I suppose I understand women in my particular culture less than I understand the men of my culture, however. Fortunately, my wife has a 100% understanding of me, so she can tell me what to think and when to think it. ;)

16. Women in the plural, no?
A lucky guy might understand one or two or perhaps a few key women in his life, at least well enough to avoid much trouble. That's really all one can ask.

To be fair, women don't understand men any better. We just don't assume that you're incomprehensibly mysterious, only that you just don't make much sense for the most part.

I just think people are people. It would suck to understand them, but they are fun to watch :)

20. I don't understand myself most of the time...
but I think that, for the most part, men *can* understand women. I don't think they really *want* to, though -- nor do we really want them to. That'd take half the fun out of it, and damn near all the mystery.

23. no, but that's not a bad thing
The unknowable is one of the things I find fascinating. What I'd like to know about women is how many of them know, and how much do they know? I wish they would tell me. I know my girlfriend better than almost anyone I've ever known, but she's still a mystery. Sometimes it's frustrating or infuriating, but sometimes it's a great thing.
