We had a close call this week, one of my sorry brothers tried to steal my fathers money.
My father is 84, not in the best health.

I have a good friend who is a lawyer so we stopped this.

The other family members knew about it and didn't even tell me.

My father is all upset now.

What a sorry thing to to do.

We had been working on a trust and hadn't finished it yet.

Everything is OK now but my father is so hurt.

1. That sucks
My Step-Father's brother with the help of a crooked lawyer and judge screwed him and his other brothers out of their inheritance. My Step-Father's Mother couldn't have possibly known what she was doing when she changed her will. She didn't even know who was who from day to day.

It's all blood under the bridge. My Step-Father forgave that Brother just before my Step-Father passed away last year.

2. You wouldn't believe the crap that my brother was saying about my father and me.
My brother never calls, and hasn't seen my father in years.

It was all about money.

Sorry to hear what happen in your family.

3. I can say from experience that "kids" in the same family can become
unrecognizable when it comes to their parents money and stuff. I'll leave it at that but Jebus H Christmas, what a traumatic time I've had with this type of thing.

 to you and your dad.

4. Don't I know!!
My mom just finished her will--I am the executor and my older sister has been written out of it! Its also written in the will that should something happen to her and my stepfather my older sister is NOT allowed into Mom's house. As I write this, the locks are being changed on the door.x(

And  to the OP because I am afraid that given the opportunity my older sister would take, not money, but priceless family heirlooms/antiques that came over from Europe around 1900....
