again.

My light green metallic baby..
What is even worse is we stood
in the house during the storm and
watched 5 big oak trees go down
without doing major damage...the
next one took out the building my
baby was in...while I watched.

8. That's a good dream to have.
A true blast. I had a chance to drive a late 80's 911 Carrera Cabriolet. Hauled some major ass, and handled really nicely. My only downside was you had to drive it like you were really pissed off at it. The 911 was built to be abused.

Gotta have the whale tail, too. It makes the body.

And the engine MUST be in the back. I had a 928S4 a long time ago, and I wish I had bought a 911 instead.

Crap for top speed, but she boogied to the quarter mile in what, 13 seconds? Awesome times for it's...uh, time.

Would you get the slopenose?

Shit, if you're gonna drop the money, go Ruf.

12. I owned a 1978 911SC Targa
One previous owner, 90k miles when purchased in 1992. I think I paid around $15k. Fantastic car.

If you're willing to spend around that much, I highly recommend it. With some research you can find a well-maintained used Porsche. The SC series is known as the 'bulletproof' era. The engines last around 150,000 miles before needing a rebuild; with mine, I just needed to replace the clutch at 100k and a valve job at 110k--the valve job hurt, but it was worth it.

Sigh. I miss that car.

21. A cool thing
was that on the road, Porsche owners would flash their lights at each other when crossing paths. The experience of being behind the wheel of one is truly unique. Some may dismiss it as elitism, but it's not. It's acknowledgment of a sharing a secret. It's not unlike motorcyclists, when we give each others a thumbs up or peace sign.

43. I agree with the appeal of owning a car like the Tesla
or the one that Zap and Lotus are designing (664 hp/300 mi range anyone?) And I also agree with not supporting the oil bidness primarily for the emissions generated. But after seeing the British show Top Gear demonstrate the Bugatti Veryron, I can certainly appreciate the engineering it takes to make a production car that has a reachable top speed of 253 mph and that no one here can ever hope to afford to own :P

first, a 1959 Ferrari 250GT California.

Second, a 1962 Ferrari GTO...

Third, an older Aston, DB4 or DB6, if a race version, even better.
