Woohoo! I'm getting a new(to me) car!
OK, so it won't be THAT new to me, its actually my Grandparents' old car, which they then gave to my parents. A 1988 Buick Regal. The car ran fine all this time, excellent condition, but something happened to it. A couple of years ago, it was parked in front of my parents' house, on the street, when a driver hit it in a hit and run accident. No one was hurt, but the driver had NO fucking insurance(police tracked him down), and our insurance was liability only, no full coverage!

The driver in question hit the car on the driver side(obviously), just in front of the front tire, so the entire front bumper ended up getting sheered off the car. My parents' had to have it towed to my uncle's house, he has a 5 car garage, he restores classic vehicles, he has a Model T Ford, a '55 Studebaker, etc. They more or less gave it to him, I had a car at the time, a 1989 Celica Convertible. Unfortunately, I threw a rod in the Celica, two days after I had the oil changed, of all things, and had to get it junked. This was a while ago.

Anyways, so the Regal runs fine, it just can't pass inspection without a front bumper, and my parents were able to get a deal on a new bumper, and the car just needs new brakes, and its good to go. Its in the shop now, let's just hope that the front bumper doesn't take long to get there.

This is a picture of what the car looks like, but its not the actual car, just a pic on the internet I found. The difference is that my car is sky blue:

The weird thing is that my car literally doesn't have a scratch on it, the driver hit it at such an oblique angle, it didn't even damage the turn signal light on that side of the car.

1. A 20-year-old car in pristine condition? You don't see that every day; good deal.

2. Well, except for the front bumper, yeah...
They just had it inspected, the only thing wrong are the brakes and the lack of said bumper. Other than that, good to go. My grandfather, who had the car before my parents, used to own gas/service stations for 30+ years. He knew how to take care of cars. RIP Grandpa, you were the best! :)
