3. The #19 from "Sub Station II" is the best thing ever, but come hungry!
Can be seen in the picture here: http://www.substationii.com/

It's made on a chewy, full-bodied italian hoagie roll, and and has freshly-sliced ham, bologna, Genoa salami, pepperoni, cappicola, turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, an zesty olive oil vinaigrette, and a dash of salt, pepper, and oregano.

I first had one of these when i was about 12... i've lived away from Charlotte now for almost 10 yrs, and i still crave it.

5. Homemade french bread, lightly toasted...
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 11:05 AM by youthere
with a smear of homemade, garlic infused mayo, topped with thick slices of vine ripe tomato, a small bit of sprouts or fresh spinach, and a grind of black pepper. If I'm feeling crazy, I'll slice some cukes on it too-or avocado. I LIVE on this in the summer.

13. Two slices of ham...
Two slices of ham, American cheese, brown mustard, sliced pickles, and crushed potato chips (Lay's only) on lightly toasted white bread.

I'm the one guy I know who not only was gifted with a plug-in sandwich warmer, but uses it to the point of excess! :)

Now I'm hungry!

19. A simple one
Deli turkey on whole wheat with mayo, lettuce, onion, tomato, sprouts.

A local sub shop here makes a good veggie sub, too, with lettuce, tomato, onion, green peppers, cucumbers, sprouts, and oil/dressing. Yum. :9

Hey, it's lunchtime! Too bad I'm not near the sub shop...but I think I have the fixins for a turkey sammitch. Now...just...need...to get the cat...off my lap...

21. Reuben on rye. I haven't had one since I moved to Switzerland,
mainly because I don't know what "corned beef" is called in Italian -- and because even if I did know, I'd have to make the corned beef myself. That seems like a lot of trouble for a corned beef and sauerkraut sandwich that my husband thinks sounds sort of gross. x(

37. I still prefer:
Regarding Intravenous de Milo:
"This tasteless cover is indicative of the lack of musical invention within. This band is treading water in a sea of retarded sexuality and bad poetry."

"Well, that's just nitpicking, now isn't it?"

Regarding The Gospel According to Spinal Tap:
"This ponderous collection of religious rock psalms begs the question: 'On what day did the Lord create Spinal Tap, and couldn't he have rested on that day, too?'"

"That's a good one; never heard that one before."

30. The "Redstone Special":
"Make some pesto, or buy a jar of some that you know is made well. Mix 1/3 pesto to 2/3 GOOD mayonnaise, like Hellman's. Add a couple of chunks of garlic, chopped, or roasted if you like a milder flavor. Stick it all in a food processor and whirl until smooth (this works better than just stirring it together, though you can do that if pressed for time).

Simple, yes? Heaven when spread on a sandwich with sliced tomatoes walked in from the garden.

And don't forget the Rolling Rock."- Redstone
