I posted twice on JohnKleeb's karma thread (it was at 28) and after I made post #30 there he was - GROVELBOT.

I figured out the secret!!

My father-in-law did that for a time in the early 80s, before he could get (civilian) work with the Navy.

Back then, it was relatively easy work to get on a short-term basis.

I also used to know someone who was a prison guard up in Monroe. Can't remember his name...but he was one of the biggest software pirates of the time. :shrug:

...good old Washington State...the only place I've ever been which required a new road test from everybody moving from another state, whether they had a valid driver's license or not.

By the way, make sure he avoids the Kent/Des Moines DMV testing site. Or, if he has to go there, have him ask me about it. They've got one particular trick to the way they run their tests that catches a lot of people (including myself on my first try there).
