In about an hour and a half, our teeny tiny little congregation mixed about 500 pounds of dry beans, bagged them in individual soup packets with a spice packet, sealed and labeled them today. Final tally: 1,090 soup packets, which will provide a meal a day for 12 people every day for a year.

My little church raised about $300 and about $25-30 worth of boxed/canned food. We push for people to give money, because the food bank can buy food so, so, so much cheaper than we can. That $300 will buy as much as we could buy at the store for about $2400.
