We just interviewed someone who is ridiculously overqualified.
Like 'recommendations from NASA' and could drop names like 'when I worked with Jonathan Sachs' (for those who don't know think billionaire who developed Lotus 1-2-3). That kind of overqualified.

Did I mention he isn't concerned about the money as he apparently has enough? Just wants to work somewhere easy going and fun.

Sweet Jesus, I hope our company sounds fun!

2. Yup.
Seemed he moved up here on a whim and is looking for a 'fun and easygoing' programming job.

Hope we seem that way to him!

4. desperately.
Skill-wise he is the perfect candidate. It's like he had a checklist of skill sets and experience that perfectly matched what we wanted and then some.

It was funny. In the interview he said something along the lines of knowing that tech companies like us often don't want to hire older people. I was thinking more along the lines of how on earth anyone wouldn't hire this guy on the spot. His skill set was amazing. It's like there wasn't anything he hadn't done.
