Help help help panic panic panic....
...arrgh. I always get this way when I'm waiting on not one, not two, but SEVERAL important response e-mails that just haven't surfaced yet. Meaning a lot of work that has to be done is currently on hold, and I'm just not in the mood to do the other work.

I lock myself in my room, shut off the lights, and devote my waking hours entirely to self-gratification.

You know--junk food and Mystery Science Theater. (What did YOU think?)

But HOW DO I BREAK THE CYCLE? I can be an incredibly dynamic person when I want to be, but this has really got me down. Plus my room (and myself) are now a mess.

I wonder if this is what Howard Hughes had...

1. I know this feeling well
The frustration is that it's out of your hands. So work on something or plan something that is in your hands. For instance, you might brainstorm what happens after the response comes, or what you do if one does not come quickly. Think of concrete ideas and things. This will make you feel more in control and hopefully better.

It works for me in situations like this. I very much know the frustration you describe.
