Computer Question.

Why does my screen cursor flash on & off while pages load here on DU? Been here for years and it just started happening a couple of days ago.

1. What's your connection? Are you on PC or Mac?

Do you use Firefox?

There could be many reasons, but my first thought is it may be a disruption in your ISP connection (dial-up? DSL? cable?)
Have you emptied your temp files lately? Too many of those, and cookies, can slow your connection down, too.

2. I have comcast cable.

pages load fast, it's just my cursor, only been happening on DU. I did virus and spy scan yesterday. Thank you for your thoughts.

If you look at the bottom toolbar you can see all the items loading...

The new banner ads are at fault. The Sprint ones with the moving images. I only have the problem at DU, and only while the pictures are moving in those ads.

7. It's low on the CPU priority scale, so something else may be

happening in the background. Clearing temporary files, particularly IE's can help ... a virus scan wouldn't hurt either.

9. Yeah, the OP might want to check CPU usage

by bringing up task manager and selecting the performance tab.

8. I left and did another virus/spyware scan and

emptied temp. files. Still the same, only happens here. I think it's the sprint ad also.
