Best (or ANY for that matter) *FREE* xvid/avi -> dvd software, PLEASE?

1. Are you looking for something to let you play xvid encoded dvd

files? If so: http://www.free-codecs.com/ Just download and install Koepi's Xvid codec (link is on the left of the page.) You should also go ahead and download and install FFDshow (also to the left).

If you have the codecs already installed but want a program to convert one kind of video file (.mov, .mpg etc...) to Xvid (re-encode) then try this program: http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html


To author a DVD from an xvid .avi file try Avi2Dvd from http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAvi2Dvd.html
IT's very easy. The forums at the sight contain tutorials on how to use it but be prepared to let it run overnight as the encoding process can take hours.
