Night drop-box scam at bank is thwarted

AURORA - Someone is believed to have diverted checks from an Aurora bank's night deposit box to a box of his own, but it is unclear how much money -- if any -- the thief stole.

Aurora police said the thief put "Out of Order" signs on two boxes at the Chase Commercial Bank in the 4300 block of Fox Valley Center Drive and directed customers to use a "temporary night deposit" box sitting on the ground.
