I joined DU one week before my 21st birthday.

Today, it is one week before my 22nd birthday, and I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone here who makes DU what it is. :hug: You guys (and gals) are awesome - I've never met any of you in real life, but I feel like I know a lot of you anyway. This last year hasn't been particularly easy for me, but in the end things seem to have worked out for the best, I think, and it really means a lot to me that y'all have been here for me when things got bad. I hadn't even been on DU a whole month when one of my friends was killed in Iraq, and the outpouring of support and kindness from everyone here was just phenomenal. :hug: I guess what I'm trying to say, although not nearly eloquently enough, is that DUers are wonderful people, and even with all the primary craziness going on right now and the disagreements we may have, I am very glad to be a part of it all. :grouphug: Peace.

who was in labor at the time of the accident, and who was told by her loving husband to "wait" - because the story was just breaking on the radio at the nurse's station. :eyes: :P :rofl: (We still give him crap about that to this day, lol...luckily my mom handled it pretty well and they're still married, 22 years later.) :D

I hope your wife is having a good time in Tanzania! :D I have a friend who's joining the Peace Corps after graduation, and he hopes to get assigned to that area. :)
