Poll question: What time will my weirdly-obsessed-with-snowblower neighbor start snowblowing tomorrow morning?
We've got a few inches on the ground. A few more coming.

He's been out there twice already. (This is light, airy, easy-to-sweep-away snow.)

I don't have to get up early tomorrow, but I suspect I will be doing so anyway.

3. It could be me....
Last year brought a big snow storm, 14" to Oklahoma, I was out on the tractor at 4AM clearing the road. At 6:45 went inside only to get the call that they had closed the university where I work. It was a blast!!! I love moving snow!

4. It's the national powertool obsession.
There is no job around the house that can't be immeasurably improved by the addition of an internal combustion engine. Where once, the lawns of America snoozed to the relaxing "snip snip" of hedge clippers and the dreamy "shoosh shoosh" of rotary hand mowers, now every outdoor chore comes accompanied by the teeth-rattling scream of two-stroke motors. The communal areas outside my apartment sound like a go-cart track most days, as the gardeners set-to with weed whackers, power mowers, rotorvators, leaf blowers and for all I know, V8 hemi supercharged pinking shears.

Snowblowers were invented simply because someone realized there weren't enough annoyances in the world during wintertime.
