stress. I wondered why he crawled down the hallway and barked like a dog when the rest of my children walked, skipped or ran to the bathroom. DSS found him, his sister and his baby brother locked in a spare room with a dog. Evidently, they had been there for days. Now I understand.

He and his siblings have been removed from the home. The sister is getting psychiatric services due to sexual abuse. However, DSS has determined that the boy does not require psychiatric help.

Please remember this child in your prayers. Light a candle for him. Something. I know I am not one of "teh kool kids" in "Teh Lounge" but I am asking for a child. I hope we have reached him in time and that he can grow to be an emotional healthy, contributing member of society. I fear, it is already too late.

You didn't say - what are their ages?

Oh course I will pray for him and his siblings who will also need help to recover from this atrocity so that the cycle of abuse is broken.

I am not privy to all the details. He is 6 and in kindegarten. His sister is 5 and the baby is or 3. I am pretty sure that drugs are at the bottom of all this. I really don't know how the system broke down.

Just a reminder to everyone out there ... teachers (and school bus drivers) are mandated reporters of suspected child abuse and/or neglect.
DSS needs our help.
There are child abuse/neglect hot lines. Anyone can phone in an anonymous report of abuse.
Caseworkers must investigate every report within 24 hours.
