I overdid it today. Kinda Long, so if you don't wanna open it, I won't be insulted.

I went to my happy place today (my happy place is shopping at IKEA). I got some DEALZZZZZ there.

:woohoo:

I found a really cute comforter cover for my daughter's bed for $4.99 and it included a pillow case. I also found a comforter for $2.99, so I bought two comforters and two covers (the reason I bought two is to follow).

About a week ago, I scored a free daybed with a trundle on Craigslist. I have been wanting to girly up my daughter's room for a long time (the furniture in her room was her dad's when he was growing up, and is very very masculine). Today I put together the daybed all by myself (yes, I should have waited for my husband to get home, and yes, I will be paying for this for the next few days, and no I do not regret it).

I love how her room looks now. It is definitely more girly (my daughter is the girliest of girls).

2. There is nothing more exciting
for a kid than having a "new" room. Except for a mom who puts in the effort.

I remember overdoing it once too -- when we got bunk beds for my daughter. I put almost the whole thing together until I got to the part where I had to lift the top bunk up to sit on top of the floor bunk. Couldn't do that part alone. :)

Your daughter is a very lucky young lady!

Good for you!

You are the best mom evah!

4. Will you please come 'manly' up my son's room?
We painted glow-in-the-dark paint on clear plastic and hung it from his walls about 8 years ago. He refuses to take it down and he's now 19!

Congrats on all your hard work! :woohoo:

Once I bought my son a portable basketball hoop and put it all together while Mr. Debi was golfing (and could barely stand/walk all the next days)!

5. IKEA !?
I am so satisfied every time I got to Ikea, it's about once a year or maybe less but every time is exciting! We went just last week to get more 'Billy' bookshelves.

Your DEALZZZ rocked it looks like :headbang:

6. Next trip to IKEA I want to get the Billsta pub table for my breakfast nook
I did not have $180 spare to do that today.

I also want to get two more of the Benno CD towers in red for my media storage problem.

7. OMG I just scored again from Craigslist!
I just got back from picking up a really cute white dresser with pink drawer faces. The knobs on the drawers have very pretty little roses on them.

:woohoo:

So K's daddy's dresser is going into the spare room! And the headboard and footboard from K's daddy's kid bed are going in the garage!

:woohoo:

14. You should pretend you are.
Or go crack the childproof and get down with the sickness.

Word.

20. I think "girly" is fine, but the implication that assembling a daybed with trundle
is in some way man-work is wildly offensive. :)

(Off topic: WTF is a daybed? WTF is a trundle??)

18. My boyfriend loves IKEA as well
mostly for their lighting products. He bought these LED light strips and mounted them under our bed to make the bottom glow and then put them around our LCD TV in the living room. A few lamps, a few decor pieces, yeah they make some cute things. I'm not a big fan of their furniture though, but nonetheless it's still a nice store.

And 50 cents for hot dogs? lol

19. I was looking (and drooling) over their kitchen countertops today.
I bought no furniture today, but got a lot of odds and ends (mostly home organization stuff). I love IKEA.
