I have hopes for the movie, but that all-- just hopes. After the studios butchered 'V for Vendetta', I have zero expectations anymore. Hope? A little (and a little more after reading Gibbons' piece). But no expectations.

3. Too subjective for me...

Too subjective for me to really comment on. I've compared the film (300) to the graphic novel and the film falls short in my opinion for the reason most (all so far?) films based on graphic novels fall short-- too much focus on special effects at the expense of the graphic novels second strongest suit-- character development.

I was grossly disappointed by 300. As a matter of fact, 300 dashed my last remaining expectations of a good film translation leaving me merely with a small hope for the future.
