Can you recommend a great movie for our "Movie Night"?
We get together every Tuesday night with another couple for "Movie Night". We've seen some great ones, along with a couple of stinkers. What should we rent tomorrow?

10. Either comedy or high quality indie type films.
Maybe along the lines of "Little Miss Sunshine" and "The Station Agent"

17. Best comedy ever was Some Like It Hot.
Not that many indie films that I know are at Blockbuster. Coming up on TCM cable is a documentary about the 1940's horror film maker Val Lewton - Cat People, I Walked With A Zombie, etc. Maybe they are available.

24. I loved it -- great movie.
I work at Warner Bros. and I was doing some audio work on one of the masters for this film. A couple of the producers were sitting in with me and we were doing the movie in 2 parts. We did part 1 on a Thursday but didn't get to part 2 until the following Monday. I told the producers, "Man, I couldn't wait for Monday -- I want to see the rest of this movie!!"

I got to meet the director, also. He was a very nice guy and I told him how much I liked his movie. It is a good one!!

21. I work for Warner Bros. and this movie is a sore spot with a lot of us.
This movie is absolutely fantastic, yet did poorly at the box office.

I don't think WB knew how to market this film -- it is a sleeper, for sure.

I'm glad to see that someone else feels the way I do about this movie.

20. Are you looking for any specific genre? Newer movies, older ones?
When you say "we" - is it a bunch of guys or women? or is it like a "date" type of situation?

23. Newer movies
Although we might start renting some older classics. It's two married couples and we watch the movies at home.

25. Some choices
For some classics that not everybody has seen, I would say:

12 Angry Men
On the Waterfront

For more recent good movies that not everybody has seen:

The Insider
Mystic River
The Bourne movies with Matt Damon

Check out "Clockwatchers" and "Happy Endings."

Lisa Kudrow is in both, but that's purely coincidental. They're both excellent movies. :)
