I am going to a funeral tomorrow....
My stepfather's brother passed away on Saturday night. He was truly a great man.

From the NYTimes:

ROSNER--Jonathan L. A giant among men. Family man; dedicated friend; litigator; author. Graduate of Williston Academy and Wesleyan University. United States Army Honor Guard. Order of the Coif; Pomeroy Scholar; Associate Editor NYU Law Review. Adjunct Professor of Law, NYU School of Law. Pace University School of Law. Clerk to Honorable Alexander Bicks; Assistant US Attorney S.D.N.Y., Chief Counsel and Deputy Commissioner New York State Commission on Criminal Justice and the Use of Force; General Counsel Commission of Inquiry into the 1977 Energy Failure. Husband to Lydia Sokol Rosner of 51 years; father of Beth and Bibi Giokas, Marianne (Merf) and Garth Klimchuk, Joshua Rosner; grandfather of Aaron, Sasha, Niki, and Noah. Services Tuesday 10am at "The Riverside" 76th St. and Amsterdam Ave.

:cry::cry:

When I was a kid, he had a gumball machine in his office and would let me "buy" (he kept a jar of pennies in his desk) as many as I wanted. I always walked out of there looking like the chipmunk that found the mother lode. :)

6. Thanks so much av8rdave....
He was such a great man. He reminded me of Sean Connery in his looks and had such a great sense of humor.

He would have been jumping up and down at the Giants' victory last night.

7. Obviously, I'm a Cowboys fan...but for his sake,
maybe a Giants victory was a good thing!

8. LOL
I didn't even notice that....

In fact, my stepdad invoked his brother in that last play "Win this one for Jon"...

How are you today? :hug:

That darned gumball machine has always stuck out in my mind. When I got married, he told everyone about me and the gumball machine :)
