Speaking of piercings, a couple of questions (one for New Englanders) .
My daughter and I are considering some piercings for our upcoming birthdays next month (she's turning 16, I'm turning 36). I want a little nostril one (which I almost got when I was 18, but then didn't) and she wants an industrial in an ear. As of now she has two in each lobe plus a cartilage in one ear. She wants to know if she can remove an industrial for sports once it heals.

We're also looking for a decent place (very clean with an autoclave) and any recommendations would be great.

Thanks,
Your friendly neighborhood, non-traditional mom

1. I know you're down in CT, but
the best place I've ever been is Loonar Piercing in Hadley, MA. Ben, the piercer, did my tongue, and he was great. Clean, friendly, reputable. Been in business for years. :)

We're in CT, but no problem going to Mass or RI.

Crap, this is Sarah. I'm on his laptop and I forgot he was still logged in on this one.

7. Once it heals, certainly she can take it out...
but healing time is between 2 and 12 months. Cartilage piercings always take a long time to heal, and the industrial is two cartilage piercings, aligned, with one long straight barbell connecting them both.

Decent place? Try the local tattoo studios.
