ALDI'S, what do you think of them, price and quality-wise?
Just curious as to how this grocery store ranks to fellow DU'ers. Personally, I've begun shopping there for the majority of my groceries for the past few months and have noticed a significant savings in grocery bills. Since I grew up eating generic and store-brand food, the quality seems the same to me.

2. I once bought some ground beef from Aldi's...
because I was on my way home from a gig, it was snowing, and there was a store right on my route. My dog wouldn't even eat it. It didn't taste spoiled...it just tasted nasty.

3. My only complaint is that they are on the other side of town.
We go there on occasion, and i have no complaint at all about the quality of the products, or the way the stores operate. Heck, i think it's a great idea that they save on waste by not using a lot of unnecessary fixtures, and encouraging re-use of boxes, or customers to bring their own bags.

Besides, i don't know about anywhere else, but here they pay better than ANY other retailer.

5. Non-union. Saw pickets there the first day; never shopped there.

8. We shop there.
If you don't mind low or no frills, the price is right. I know I can fill a cart to the brim for half the cost of our local grocery store. Didn't know about the union protests, though. Sigh. Will have to reconsider my patronage.
