I posted awhile ago. Really have a problem and was looking for some help...maybe I made too light of it so I guess my post was funny for everybody else but me. So, this is a lesson learned. On second thought, maybe I was not dramatic enough...maybe I should have said something like..."I'm afraid of driving, I'm going to kill myself." Don't bother to respond to this, just know that this isn't the place I joined years ago.

I dunno, but I do get what you were saying. My years in MA and loving black ice in my Corvette convinced me I belonged in Florida.

I missed your earlier request, but if it's in relation to fear of driving, then I'm in the same boat. I had an accident a few years ago and I still get nervous when I turn the key and pull out of the parking lot.

6. I loathe driving in snow.

I wrecked after hitting a patch of ice a couple of years ago, and simply *will not* drive in the snow.

If you have to, and you start to slide, don't hit your breaks, and turn into the slide. As in, don't counter the slide, overtake it and then change direction.

I am sorry I took your post so lightly. Best of luck when driving. Stay safe, and get some new wipers!

I didn't see the other post. But, a lot of people have that fear. I'm one of them. You can take classes and/or counseling to help with it. Believe it or not it is easy to overcome.

There are some incredibly nasty people. It may only be one or two in 1000 but if you're feeling really bad that's too many. I've done it and I won't do it again. DU is not a safe place, not even the lounge.

11. well, NOTHING is the same as it was six years ago

the lounge has it's particular attraction for the wackadoodles and myspacers ( no offense, myspacers) who need and seek a validation online that is missing in their real world.
There is also a significant population of attention whores.

But you gotta love 'em at face value and the lounge is and always will be about fun before emo.
