TOKYO, Japan (Reuters) -- North Korea is in talks to export its Taepodong 2 long-range ballistic missile to Iran and to jointly develop nuclear warheads with Tehran, a Japanese newspaper has reported.
The conservative Sankei Shimbun, quoting military sources familiar with North Korea, on Wednesday said that the communist state planned to export components and Iran would then assemble the Taepodongs at a factory near Tehran.
The paper, known for its hardline stance on Pyongyang, said North Korea would also send experts to provide Iran with assistance on missile technology and the two states -- both included in U.S. President George W. Bush's "axis of evil" -- would jointly develop nuclear warheads.

We absolutely cannot allow the proliferation of long-range ballistic missile technology and nuclear weapons, especially in this part of the world.
I do not believe we can prevent it forever, only postpone it, though.
So, the question is: How do we prevent the spread of this technology in a non-military manner that does not lead to increased resentment of us? I would prefer we avoid another cold war once the Islamic world has armed.
I am hoping this is merely a ploy on the part of the N Koreans to get us to deal more at the negotiating table.
