OK. I wasn't minding my own business. I was surveying the carnage in GD Politics and Campaigns, egging people on and mocking others - you know, the usual.

I hear a faint cry, like waah waah waah. It's the kid, now 22 months, crying in her crib. What the hell? I go over and find the spouse - rubbing sleepy eyes - just getting to the kid's room. And there's puke all over the kid's bed - undigested corn and peas and carrots from tonight's meal. Aw, crap. The spouse attends to the kid, so that means I attend to the crib: remove sheet, remove stuffed animals, remove puked on blanket. Change sheet, which is no small task, since the crib has a bumper still, etc. Double crap.

The kid is laying awake in our bed now with the spouse. I go in, give her a a kiss, say "You want to go back to the crib?" (She calls it kib). Yes, she nods. I take her back and lay her down. She's out cold again already, thank goodness. Then I turn to the grisly part: picking the damn puked up carrots and peas and corn from the blanket and sheet before putting it in the washing machine. Yuck.

This all just happened in the last 20 minutes. There is a moral:

If you listen to Radiohead while teasing the GD Politics Loons, you may find yourself picking vomit peas from a baby blanket. You are warned.
