Trippy 360-degree view from a mountain near us.
You have to have QuickTime to enjoy this. Go to the link, let it load, and then you'll see a little circular cursor which you can left-mouse to navigate to get a 360-degree view. Trippy.

*The panoramic photos on which this is based are not from today. It's snowing here today. x(

2. Hi, edwardlindy.
Sorry about that. I posted it first in GD by mistake, so I self-deleted instead of asking the Mods to fix my screw-up.

The whole website is very cool, but that 360° kinda makes me :puke:-ish.

5. Wow...
Although I lived in Switzerland (Geneva) for several years when I was a kid, I only made it to Ticino once, about a decade later. I wish I'd spent more time there.

9. Neat-o
How many photos did it take to make that mosaic? I have a panorama maker at home, but it can't do the dome. Cool.

24. I have no idea about the specifics, bikebloke.
What panorama maker do you use? And can digital SLR shots be converted to panoramic view somehow? :hi:

30. Panorama Maker from ArcSoft
It came with my scanner. I'm pretty sure it's called PanoramaMaker (I'm at work - and working damn hard, as you can see ;-)) and can't double check. It's nice to have for those old still attempts you used to spread out on a table. And I've converted digital shots, too. Even the 360 panoramas you can spin through.

You can even fine tune the image for curvature from the lens to match up bits that have appeared double.

My touch-pad might be tracking too fast. When I panned around, I felt like I was on a roller coaster. :yoiks:

18. OMG, that is WAaaaY cool!

It came in as B&W at first, it was kinda fun just watching the colors patch in. Then I realized the 360 view was up and down as well as just left and right (which they usually are; just left and right, I mean). OMG, too cool! I've been playing with this for far too long already, and I'm gonna go play with it some more now! Thank you for posting this! Wheeee!
