I hate it when I have to get up to go to the bathroom. Then I have to gently slide myself up and out the very top of the bed and then scooch down the middle to exit at the foot. When I return the kitties look at me expectantly and sometimes kinda softly meow at me, so I have to kiss each one on the fuzzy little head.

Satchmo likes to sleep between my legs, as close to my butt as possible. If I don't do it right, he jumps up like something poked him with a hot iron. Then Sophie steals his place and no one is comfortable for the rest of the night. Satchmo is a gentleman and will not fight for his position. He'll just walk away and pretend to be comfortable somewhere else. Fortunately for me, most of the newer ones prefer harleydad's side of the bed ... because they KNOW Satchmo's my little boy and don't want to intrude.

Too bad you have to kiss yours when you return. Kissing fuzzy little kitty heads is something no one should ever have to do! :rofl:

49. Oh, the intricacies of the Kitty Social Order

It's funny how much goes into simply sleeping in a bed with kitties.

I have another dilemma with my big boy Otis. Often when I pet him or kiss him, he immediately washes the place where I've contaminated him. So, I want to pet him and kiss him and show him I love him, but I don't want to cause him extra washing work. You wouldn't believe how much time I spend considering whether to sully his beautiful tabby fur with my human germs. :rofl:

He HAS to wash it off. Secretly, he wants you to pet and kiss him. But the others would laugh at him if he didn't "fix himself up" afterwards. It's a manly thing -- the thing that separates the real boy cats from the boy kittens who never grow up. I know this because I asked Sylvester about it. He does the same thing, but he swore me to kitty secrecy ... meaning that I can tell you as long as I don't rat him out to the other kitties.
