1. It's not Sue-zun or Sue-zan...
it's whatever your parents named you.

If I wanted to, I could name my kid "Xartan" and say, "It's pronounced 'Bill.'"

3. Too Funny
That stuff just kills me, its so stupid

Like Brett Favor of the GRB Packers, they call him Brett Farve, but the V is before the R, how in the hell can you get Far or Farve from that?

Jones, 'pronounced' Smith.......:grr:

Or the singer Michael Buble, its Bubble, not Boo Blay...that just annoys me....:grr: :hi:

4. The worst is when you try to pronounce it the odd way, but you're wrong.
For the longest time, I thought the Latin singer Ruben Blades pronounced his name blahd-es, because that's the way I would expect it to be pronounced in Spanish. But it actually is pronounced the way you would in English, rhyming with "glades" or "raids." Until I said his name one day in front of a Latin jazz aficionado, who nearly bitchslapped me.

12. I've heard it both ways.
The important thing is how Ruben says it.

11. Actually,
it's spelled Favre. And many Cajun French do that to their names-- they don't pronounce them in the correct French fashion. Go down to Louisiana, and you hear things like Darbonnier folks calling themselves Darboneeeeeer and Chenier as Cheneeeer.

Michael Buble's name has an accent over the E, so that is the correct French pronunciation.

13. Reminds me of the old BBC comedy series...
..."Keeping Up Appearances," about a social-climbing middle class woman with delusions of grandeur. Her name was Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced "Bouquet").
