My nephew got busted coppin' his first feel.
His girlfriend moved to MI in July. They'd been chaste until she left. He's visiting her in MI now. They were in the basement - where they'd spent most of their time during his visit, playing Wii, etc. They're smart kids, and they were trusted. Not anymore. Now they're not allowed to be alone together anymore.

Poor kids. They were mortified. :(

Now I don't believe there's anything wrong with petting. My kid's smart; he's got condoms. But I don't want him to go all the way. I am scared to death of them getting pregnant. So part of me glad they got busted.

And part of me is, frankly . . .

Man... kids these days.

Back in my day, if I was gonna cop a feel I did what I had to to make sure I didn't get caught. :P

My cousin just got caught throwing a wild party when my aunt and uncle were out of town... I'm gonna be razzing him about that for a while. :P

35. I won't tell you the stuff I used to do when my parents were in the other
room. :yoiks:

They blithely ignored pretty much everything that went on - on through my siblings. We were all wise enough not to invite pregnancy, however. But those were different times.

For a different perspective on teen issues, you might enjoy the movie Juno. Great funny and thoughtful film.

Happy New Year to you and the Mrs., Bertha.

Edited on Wed Jan-02-08 11:56 AM by jasonc
at least once in their younger years...

Closest I got to ever getting severely busted was the day I was jumping out her parents bedroom window... as they were driving up the driveway on the other side of the house.

yes, I was still not fully clothed while doing it too...

:P

41. Yeah it can be scary
but I think it's ignorant to think they will never, ever be in the same room alone again.

If what you say is true--that they are smart kids---then they should be fine. But if they're going to "do it" they're going to do it no matter how many people try and stop them.

Good luck to them--and to you and your family! :) :hi:

47. i feel better that they're being chaperoned
only because i know they're young. they're talking about marriage and babies. they're way too young for that, but of course they know everything. don't all kids?

if it were my sister who made the discovery, she'd've handled it differently -- but wouldn't have said "you're happy? go for it." but it was the girl's father.

43. The worst that ever happened to me...
I got home from a date and I was sitting on the couch, watching a movie with my dad. He kept looking at me and grinning, and then would ask "Have fun tonight?" I was sitting there wondering what in the hell he was grinning at. I finally got up and went to the bathroom, and my shirt(I was wearing a white oxford shirt) was covered in makeup around the shoulders and collar. And I had lipstick on my neck and cheek. Man was I embarrassed. I was wondering why he kept asking me that.

44. Why are they trying to stop them?
It's a dumb idea, like abstinence-only education: It never actually works. They're just doing what people will do, and really the only thing the parents can do is try to teach them to be safe about it. Treating sex like it's something "dirty" is a big part of the reason that our society has such backwards ideas about sexuality.

46. Why are you judging?
What did you want the guy (the girl's father) to do: walk into the room, see my nephew's hand on his daughter's breast, and say "hey, boy, the real action's down below!" and walk back out? Or toss him a pack of condoms?

By the way. The boy knows from safe sex. My sister isn't a blistering idiot. He also knows "no means no," and he respects women.

But hey. To each his own. Or - not. Whatever.
