I doubt that I will make it to the fireworks downtown tonight, and Dick Clark's "Rockin Eve" isnt too terribly "rockin" anymore.

What are you cheeky-monkeys doing tonight?

If you are in Australia or Japan...Happy New Year already!!!

10. If I want cheap and strong, I'll break open the bottle of mead I've got in my pantry...
only cost me about 10 bucks to brew the entire gallon... :P And it's at least as strong as a belgian ale, probably stronger.

5. I will be attending a house party.
I'm a big New Year's fan. Probably my favorite holiday (except maybe Halloween). In the last couple years, I went to a Roots concert, a Parliament/Funkadelic concert, and whatnot, but there wasn't really anything that cool happening in my area this year. Just the usual $200-a-head parties at the clubs in Miami Beach. Been there, done that, no thanks.

But, a friend of my wife's decided to have a house party. Her dad's a distributor for Brown-Forman Corporation, so the Korbel champagne and Jack Daniel's whiskey should be flowing like water.

6. Dinner and silly games with another couple
We get together every year. I think this will be our 10th year together.
They are cooking the main meal. We're bringing the champagne and dessert.

Then I'll watch the ball drop, have some champagne, and go to bed.

17. Didn't go out to dinner
Place was booked up. Just had a smorgasbord of stuff.

I'm thinking of cracking open the champagne pre midnight, so I can just go to bed.

What a party pooper I am. :P

13. Neighbors are having a Wii party
We all have kids, so while the kids are playing, the adults will be imbibing. No driving, which is great!

Happy 2008!!!

14. what a great idea!
we used to go out to see friends when all the kids were little, but somehow it changed to NY Day brunch, and then to nothing. Odd.

I think I will consider what you guys are doing for next year!

19. I'll still turn Dick on and watch his ball drop.
I don't think I will sit through the whole thing, but I'll at least watch him at midnight, raspy though his voice may be from his stroke.

20. I still don't understand the whole Ryan Seacrest as successor to Dick Clark thing.
As for us, we're having friends over to join the frivolity.

21. Opened a bottle of wine
to go with dinner. I will have at least a couple of glasses. If I pace myself I might finish the bottle by midnight. But if I get a headache (always a possibility for me with beer or wine-kind of takes the fun out- but it doesn't always happen so I take my chances LOL), I will have to stop.
