1. I bought a bottle of 'mead' to mull for christmas dinner

and I discovered that it wasn't actually mead. It was white wine with honey added. Not added during or before the brewing process, but added AFTERWARDS. Now there is a kind of mead that involves mixing honey with wine (pyment), but I'm pretty sure that in order to be called mead, it has to have fermented honey in it. The honey in this drink was not fermented at all. The only thing that had been fermented was the wine. So instead of mead, I had sticky, uber-sweet honey flavored wine. Which I ended up dumping into the sink, because it was quite simply undrinkable. Horrendous stuff.

More reason for me to really work on brewing my own, I suppose. So I stopped by the brewing store today and got some more yeast for my next batch. :)
