He never got much exposure because of playing for a small country - but at 16 he was picked up by Manchester United (1962) - He was called the 5th Beatle because of his looks and then got some international exposure in the Euro competitions. He was insecure and quit United at age 26 (1972), became an alcoholic - liver transplant, the works. Died of alcoholism in 2005. Pele said he was born in the wrong country, dribble and pass, should have been a Latin American.
They gave him a state funeral in Belfast.
