*#_)*ing dogs!
Ate my entire loaf of cranberry nut bread when I walked out of the room. After all that chopping and squeezing fresh OJ, grating fresh orange rind, etc., they gulped it down and to add insult to injury will more than likely barf it up for me to clean up later. No way am I going out today to get more cranberries so I guess that's one traditional family holiday treat that won't be making an appearance at this year's festivities. Damned dogs.

4. Figure it this way : 12 days of Christmas
Make another on the week-end when everything else is a left-over?

We're betting that this year Guinness will not eat the Christmas tree or the Christmas village although he already took a painted pine cone out to bury in his pen.

5. One year I made fruitcake
Edited on Mon Dec-24-07 03:53 PM by Avabea
This was at the end of October. Week after week I carefully unwrapped that fruitcake and added brandy to it. Finally December 24th came I carefully unwrapped it and put it on a beautiful plate to serve it to my guests. As I was sitting in the living room entertaining friends you got it, the dog ate it!

6. You left a loaf of cranberry nut bread unguarded with dogs nearby?
I would bet that the dogs would scarf it down about, oh, say, 100 percent of the time.

The barfing sounds like a good bet, too.

Did you get them gifts (besides the unguarded bread?) We have three. One had diarrhea already today, so we're hopeful our dog adventure is out of the way for this festive time of year.

8. That dog has such a sweet face.
I don't think that I could get angry at that fuzzy countenance. :hi:

9. There's a stocking full of yummy dog treats waiting to go under the tree tomorrow
You'd think we'd learn -- we already had a scare where someone left a bedroom door open and my housemate's dog got into some milk chocolate. Fortunately, it was a nontoxic quantity but the silly thing ate it AND the foil it was wrapped in. That was a lovely mess and I'm sure the vet thinks we're all insane. 5 dogs living in one house. It IS insane.

10. Awww!! I'm sorry!

Have some Jameson and Dr. Pepper... that'll make it all better! :P

I hope you have a goddamn Happy Holiday in spite of the dogs! :)
