1. Great clip Joe!
I like his style too. A lot of bands tried to copy his stylish way of dressing because they could not match his ability. My fave band, the New York Dolls, were one for sure.

2. I always envied the way Jimi dressed, but a skinny white suburban
boy just wouldn't have cut it wearing the dashiki's and other bright and wildly styled clothing he wore. It would have been laughable.

I have to respect the style of the dolls, too. They were originals, and I always admire true trailblazers.

3. Ha, yeah I'm in the same boat as you with the style there!
I couldn't pull it off, but I really like the ruffled sleeves that Jimi seemed to sport first. Doll, Jerry Nolan sure loved 'em too.

I have the 'Monterey Pop Festival' from '67. WOW! I can never decide if Jimi or Otis was the greatest live act of all-time. It was one of 'em for sure. Talent + charisma + boundless energy= MAGIC!!

4. I've got it, too. And I look at it at least once a week. Yeah, Otis was great.

Sometimes it seems as though it's like what Dion said..."seems the good, they die young..."

5. Yeah, sheesh they were both gone so quickly after that.
I love RnR, but whoaa- the mortality rate. What a loss.
