As I was in line at Target today reading the nutritional info on a candybar there was a ruckus
The cashier had either a seizure or a stroke and ran toward the bathroom falling into the wall and then the floor.
It happened so fast that I didn't catch any of it..And my report of this event is strictly from the customer in front of me.
I wonder how her Christmas will be?
Friday at work a gentleman in my Office received a phone call..
His Father passed away.
I wonder how his family's Christmas will be?
As I sit here typing this I think of my own Christmas's of past years and the feelings of regret
and even loneliness that i felt during some of those times and I think.
What an Asshole I am..
I have my health..I have friends who care.
I have tomorrow.
And instead of sitting here grieving for what I don't have or even desiring what I may never have.
I should step back and be thankful for the little things in my life that make me happy.
My Cats,my Friends, and even this crazy place.
..
Life is way to fucking short to sit around and stew at the hand life has dealt you.
I figure if you ain't busy living..You are busy dieing.

Just something to think about..
Peace

1. ...

My sister's father-in-law's kidneys have failed. He probably won't make it to Christmas. Doctor's said it was due to the arthritis drugs he'd been taking for years.

I'm sitting here feeling sorry for myself because my daughter's gone to see her father and I'm alone for Christmas. I should be grateful that my daughter is happy, healthy and for right now, has her whole life ahead of her.

You're one of the blessings in my life J.

Thank you for reminding me that life *is* good. :)

i'm feeling sorry for me 'cause i'm sick, and there's b.s. going on here that isn't true that i've let bother me long enough, and i am going to start looking at what i have to be grateful for and not what isn't there.

thanks!

9. I was sitting here reading this
Feeling down because I am thousands of miles from my family. As I was getting ready to post my phone rang, it was my son who lives in Ma, instantly I was grateful that he could make that call. I was even more grateful when he said Merry Christmas Mom..you're going to be a grandma. I'm still thousands of miles away..but my family is growing and healthy. I am blessed.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

10. My trouble though, is it's a lot easier to say I should be happy than to actually be so.
I obviously agree with what you say, but sometimes (ok, a lot of times) saying something to myself like "I have tomorrow" ends up as a negative, like it's a threat almost. I always try to keep in mind that there are people who are far worse off than I am, but when you're in the midst of depression that has little effect on the feelings and thoughts going on. And then that feeds on itself, because like you say, you feel like an asshole, so it becomes a loop of negativity that just collapses in on itself like a dying star and gets even heavier, making the circle stronger and harder to break out of.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still very, very thankful about some things, one of which you know well. But those negative thoughts are always nipping at my heels, no matter how much I tell myself these things. It's one of the things I really dislike about myself, and I'm clueless as to how to change it.

Sorry, I know this is kind of negative for what you posted as a positive. Don't mind me. x(

17. We are our own worse enemies I think sometimes.
And words many times are empty and hollow.
I wish I knew the words to say and even more than that I wish the words existed that would make every negative thought or sorrow go away.Time is probably the only cure.
And the one thing you are quite thankful for..I am as well.
They destroyed the mold when they made that one..I wish they didn't because the world could use so many more of her.
Just try to take it easy on yourself..things will change..Always do.

The funny thing is, I'm actually much better than I was the other day. This is me doing well!

Sorry to rain on a really nice post by you.

And thanks for the kind thoughts! :toast:

13. I wonder how OMC is doing.
I am sure it is hard, but he has his kids. He will have to make a nice Christmas, for their sakes.

When I was very young, my first husband died. He died in November. Christmas and Thanksgiving were different that year.

I went to my parents' and brother's home on Christmas Eve, and to my in-law's home on Christmas Day. I brought everyone presents. I did not have a tree, but things were okay.

Over the next few years, I learned to enjoy my time alone and to develop my own Christmas traditions.

Now I have a grown family. Two of them will be here on Christmas Day.

Sometimes I think back on those years after my first husband's death. I did spend time with family, but mainly because they worried about me. I enjoyed my time alone. Being alone does not mean being lonely.
