Poll question: Did you finish your holiday shopping yet?
I got my last two presents, for my Dad and Sister, last night. I had to wait until after finals to have the time, then I took LK with me and let him pick. He figured Grandpa and Auntie would want "something 49ers" and "something pink!" respectively. He did pretty good, I think. My Mom will be out of state, so I can get her something after Giftmas to take advantage of sales and another paycheck.

The only two other people I'm giving stuff to are my son and flvegan, and I got their things (clothes and Legos for LK, and <Ha ha! you thought I was about to post your gift, didn't you? Silly vegan.> for flvegan) some time back.

Just curious.

3. Done, but I mail most of mine and need to be done early.
Everything was in Ms. Postal Carrier's hands last weekend.

6. I had to pay extra 'cause I mailed flv's last minute. It was ready to go, I just didn't have time
to go down to the PO.

8. That's why I mail them early.
We send about 10 boxes to the East Coast and it's REALLY expensive if we don't send everything early. Took us a couple of years living out here to figure that out.;-)

10. Next year I'll just bring it in and UPS it through work.
Don't know why I didn't think of that in time. Ground shipping is cheap, but it takes a week.

4. I'm writing a "floaty" check on Christmas Eve for presents and then
hope it only bounces once before payday on Dec. 31. Our Christmas bonuses come on Jan. 15 because the owners weren't getting their 5x bonuses properly sheltered prior to end of year.

5. Almost done
Might be done, if I talk myself out of buying a sled for MG Jr., an office chair for Mr. MG, and a chess set so dad can teach Jr. (I'm useless in that regard).

12. Less than 1/2 done.
:banghead:

I've already been audibly pissed off with one person today, and I've barely done any shopping at all.

I just have no tolerance at all for inconsiderate people... especially this time of year. It's my Christmas gift to them, to let them know what assholes they are. :)

14. I usually do that.
This year I haven't got much time, but I'll probably do some cookies and a pie or three this weekend.

16. Oh, if I did that, a certain little child would magically have a lot more Legos
Mine are all hiding on the other end of town at my Dad's place until Giftmas Eve, I'll get them all wrapped and hidden someplace at my house (I'm thinking the broom closet, he'd never look where the cleaning stuff is) until he goes to sleep.

18. Legos are da bomb!
I still enjoy playing with them.

The living room is totally OFF LIMITS before the big day arrives. Anyone caught shaking, sniffing, or fingering the gifts gets theirs replaced with a lump of coal in this house!!!

I have a couple of bags of junk stashed away to fill the stockings after everyone goes to bed on "Giftmas" Eve.

Happy Helladays, LeftyMom!

19. Thanks!
We lucked out. LK wanted Castle legos, and the $60 set was on sale for $15 at Grocery Outlet, so he wound up getting pretty much the whole line for what I was planning on spending on one big set. :D

BigLots had some pretty cheap too.

Now I just need to get something to sort them all, or I'll be stepping on Legos and trying to keep the cats from eating them.

20. I'd recommend...
a few large plastic stackable bins with lids and a kiddie sized snow shovel or dustpan to scoop them from the floor. We bought several large bins that slide under Kid Green Meanie's bed.

Absolutely nothin' hurts worse than steppin' on Legos. I have the scars to prove it!

A photo of Kid Green Meanie fresh out of my barber's chair...

17. Usually I'm mostly done but this year haven't even started
what I wanted to get my daughter is naturally out of stock (unless I want to pay more, which I ain't) and since I have no idea what my son needs (not wants, needs) I'll just get him a gift card for him. Will probably get a gift card for her also.

In all my years, I think this is the first time I actually hate Christmas.

Should be finished by midday tomorrow.

Finally got all the decorations up. Yay. :woohoo: Someday I'd like to skip that part completely but not until the kids are grown up.

23. Yes.
It was all pretty much done by the end of the month. Old habits die hard - I had to shop early when I worked in retail and I still don't like fighting the crowds so I get it all done by the end of November usually. Not that we buy much.
