Is it just me, or are they making men's clothes sizes smaller anymore?

I remember when I was in high school XL shirts used to be big on me. Nine years later, I am close to the same size and weight, but now a 2XL shirt is snug.

A woman I work with has a son that is probably about 5'11" and maybe 150 lbs. and she was saying that he wears XL shirts. I looked at him today and thought, "There is no way that kid should be wearing an XL".

Anyone else notice this?

1. It definitely is the case with women's clothing.

Medium shirts almost never fit me, smalls definitely not. It's annoying.

3. I wear an XL in just about every shirt made, except...

if I buy something from Old Navy, I have to wear a 2X. Since old navy is primarily for younger people, I would say that you are correct by saying that they may be making clothes smaller these days...at least for the younger consumer?
