do meerkats get too much airtime on animal planet or is it my imagination?

i don't have cable but the banks here all have TVs playing animal planet all day. so when i'm in line at the bank i watch a lot of animal planet. seems like there's always a special about meerkats on. they're cute and all, but aren't there other animals on the planet?

1. It's probably easier to film meerkats than wolverines or Tasmanian devils.

I'm sure that's the reason.

Now there's a new animal soap--Orangutan Island or something. My cats review: "Meh. Call us when the meerkats are on."
