Blame Mittens for cartoon dog's disappearance.
Over at the Blog, the Daily Cartoonist (http://www.dailycartoonist.com) we've had an unusually long-running discussion about the cartoon panel "Howard Huge," which depicted an oversized Saint Bernard in the "Parade" magazine supplement in many Sunday newspapers.

It's long lasting because it seems every darned Sunday, some new person comes in and kicks it back up to the top by asking where the panel went? (Parade dropped it over two months ago, wanting to try new comics instead.)

Finally, yesterday we had our weekly question show up:

"Where is Howard Huge? Can you help us find him? Every sunday, millions of families, including children, come together to enjoy this amazing cartoon. As part of your Parade Family, may I ask you to bring us Howard back to our homes?"

I could take it no longer. I broke the bad news to Howard's millions of readers.

"Howard made the mistake of going on vacation with Mitt Romney and his family, and fell off the roof of the car somewhere near the Canadian border."
