Poll question: Can I get some opinions on a xmas gift?
I went out xmas shopping for my Mom and I'm wondering if this was a good pick or not. My wife seems skeptical.

I'm a tech geek, so I tend to think all electronic gifts are great, so maybe my opinion is clouded. My Mom lives about 4 hours away from me, so her and my step-dad spend time in the car, not to mention he hates to fly, so they vacation by car. I thought this would be different and would give them some neat things like the Elvis channel and instant weather and traffic for basically wherever they are. But now I'm having second thoughts, maybe something with monthly subscription wasn't a good idea. What say you?

1. My dear Nickster...
I'm not sure, but it's probably a good idea...

Are they open to new technologies?

If they're on the adventurous side, I'd say go for it!

:hi:

2. My mom is always open to new things, so I think she'd be ok. I can easily install it for her,

so after that, it's as easy as using a regular radio. I absolutely love mine, my morning commute was nuts with nothing but commercials, now it's whatever genre of music or talk that I feel like that day. When my wife makes me run errands during football Sundays, I can just flip on the game on. :-)

3. I would offer to pay the subscription for the first year.
It is kinda like having cable TV installed at my house and expecting me to pay the monthly bill when you don't know that I want cable TV.

4. I was thinking about that. I got the radio with a prepaid subscription card for 50 bucks, so
that would give her a few months to decide if she even wants it or not. I'm a lifetime subscriber, so I can get her radio for about 6.99 a month, which isn't bad at all.
