What people immortalized in song have you met?
I met the Wurster kid that just wanted a burrow owl in that Dead Milkmen song Stuart

http://youtube.com/watch?v=VHFr6DgrF0w

I've also met the person that Westerburg was singing about in the Replacements song Left of the Dial.

What about you?

1. A long time ago I met Charlie on the MTA.
At least he claimed to be Charlie and borrowed a quarter.

11. ZZ Top---Arrested For Driving While Blind...
Edited on Sun Dec-16-07 12:06 PM by abq e streeter
a good friend of mine was one of the people arrested...also , a waitress I knew during a road gig ( a gig which included the friend I just mentioned) in Anthony, Texas many years ago, swore that a Bay City Rollers song was written for and about her. When I expressed skepticism (to say the least) about her claim, she replied that if she was making something like this up to impress me, why in the world would she pick the Bay City Rollers. Good point; I suppose it may very possibly be true. Also Bo Diddley -immortalized by himself-"Hey, Bo Diddley" and by Dylan-"From a Buick Six", and Joe Ely ("there ain't no better blend than Joe Ely and his Texas men") from " If Music Could Talk" (The Clash's Sandinista album). Have met both Bo and Joe several times through mutual friends.

14. Mike Watt.
'What could be romantic to Mike Watt?'

I'd have killed to have met the person Westerburg was singing about in 'Johnny's Gonna Die.' Of course he is dead now.
