Is Lyle Lovett still a Republican?
He is just too talented and funny to be a Republican.

Has he defected yet?

1. For some reason I used to associate talent with intelligence
I used to look up to artists thinking that they had to have a lot going for them upstairs. Then I learned about Ted Nugent and that blew my theory out of the water.

2. yeah, Ted can play the hell out of the ax
But he his persona seems straight outta freeperville.

Lyle doesn't seem that bad, but last I heard he still called himself a pube.

That's disappointing, because I really love some of his songs.

8. I love Ted's music as much as I hate his politics!
His live show was one the most entertaining I ever saw. He gave me my money's worth and more even though he was opening for Aerosmith. Glad he wasn't spewing bile from stage back when I saw him. I guess he does that nowadays.

just not worth it.

There are plenty of good guitar players out there that one need not patronize that dick head.

3. I've never seen a Republican with a hair style like Lyle.
He looks like a communist.

5. I don't think he's ever been a republican.
I went to school with Lyle at A&M, and he was an acquaintance at the time (we were both journalism majors in a very small department, and I used to cover his local shows pre-recording contracts when I was the music editor).

I think he performed at the inauguration out of loyalty to his home state, and not because of political preferences.

9. I could've sworn that I read an article where he said he was one
But I can't find it now with Google. Maybe I read the article in a dream.

Good. Now I can listen to "Fat Babies," "Skinny Legs" and "If I Had A Boat" and not feel bad about it. :)

7. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Noooooooooooo!
(I just reminded myself of Mr. Bill)

Please please don't say he is. I hope what Shakespeare said was correct, that he just is a loyal Texan, not a repug. His lyrics can be so searing, I don't think a repug is capable of such observations or feelings... I hope he's not!
