What would you do if a cashier rang you up incorrectly
IN YOUR FAVOR?!?!

Say you're buying two pair of pants on a super holiday markdown and you have a $10 coupon. You're chatting with the clerk about the weather and not paying attention and apparently, she isn't either.

When it comes time to pay, she's putting both pants in the bag, but the total is less than $5.

What would you do?

6. Me too. It sucks being the cashier whose drawer doesn't total up at the end of your shift

11. She didn't ring the second item at all
So there will be no discrepancy for her to account for and it was a big-box retailer, so mom-and-pop won't be hurt.

15. Nah. For me I am just not comfy with it. I'd have to say something even if it
was scott-free.

3. This type of thing has happened to me a couple times.
I told them both times. I know that it might come down to the cashier and his/her job, so I tow the honesty line.

4. I say something.
If something doesn't look right, I say so.
And FLVegan, you toe the line, you don't tow it.

7. As much as I hate to admit it...
I would be honest.

I know, I know... there's no good reason to. You're getting a bargain. But for some reason my damn morals won't let me get away with stuff like that.

9. I was once given $100 extra in change.
I had to pay a bill, (several hundred dollars), and I paid with $100 bills. I got my change, and didn't notice right away that one of the bills included in my change was $100. I went to another store, and that was when I noticed, so I went back to the first place, and found the cashier. I gave him the money back, explaining what had happened. I thought the poor guy was going to faint when he realized what he had done. He thanked me over and over; I said no problem. I was glad I had discovered it before the end of the day. I can't imagine the panic the guy would have felt if he came up $100 short at the end of his shift.

13. Happened to me, gave the cashier a twenty to pay, she gave it back in the change -
I gave it right back to her with a smile and told her I thought it should be a five instead. I've had too many friends with second shift convenience store jobs or moms working at the local grocery while the kids are at school, both types trying to make ends meet to take advantage of someone at a cash register.

14. If the item is not rung up but bagged anyway
There's no issue for the cashier.
