Pete Doherty? Is he someone special?

I read this, and I still don't know who he is...

I got several books about him in the store today but never heard of him...

Anyone know anything besides the fact that he's a druggie who's banging Kate Moss?

Peter Doherty (born March 12, 1979) is an English musician, artist and poet. He is singer and songwriter in the band Babyshambles, but he is best known musically for his work with The Libertines, alongside Carl Barât. Since 2005, he has become more prominent in the public eye as a result of his relationship with supermodel Kate Moss and battles with drug abuse.

Haven't heard anything by Babyshambles, his other band though. He's probably most famous for going out with Kate Moss and being a junkie though.
