How many times a day our debt collectors allowed to call....my mom owes money for an ambulance ride that we can't pay.....they calll three or four times a day....protocol

1. check out your state Attorney General's website

they should have your state's debt collections practices act information pretty prominently displayed.


i'd start there and do everything it tells you to. there will be a formal way to stop harassing phone calls. do that, then you'll have the basis for a complaint if it continues.

2. As a resident of the great state we live in...

you are very luck! They aren't supposed to call more than every three days! And if they call her at work, she can send them a letter telling them not to call her there. Tell her to 'remind' them of the state laws and to stop calling every day or she will report them to the Atty Gen's office and she will follow through with a law suit. Might not stop them, but then again it might not but worth a try. Good luck!
