I was quite surprised at how cheap it was but this weekend is supposedly THE cheapest weekend.

7. crap. You can't even get a decent hotel room in NY for one night

for $400-500. I was just floored the last time I went up there -- was supposed to stay in the apartment of a friend of a friend, but there was a mixup and it was midnight and we really had no choice but to get a hotel -- cheapest we could find in the area was $400. Our friend, who'd set it up (and messed up), covered the cost (his company did; we were there to meet with them) but it was just a ridiculous amount of money for a teeny tiny semi-decent room.

Have a good time! Sometimes turbulence going into/out of the LV airport can be bad, just be warned. The WORST turbulence I've ever experienced was taking off from Las Vegas (but this was the springtime, lots of unstable air). People were crying, praying, holding hands, puking -- whatever. It sucked.
