14. He was areal **** toward Tina, but he was a musicial genius.
He was, with Tina, as far as I am concerned, a pivotal entity in the music business. Alone, either of them is a formidable talent. Combined, on business terms, they were sublime.

I know some people prefer to combine personality with art. I don't. It IS possible to admire and loathe a person at the same time. Ambivalence is easy.

4. Yeah he was both.
He just won a grammy last year and I think he was nominated again this year.

Too bad. It seems like he was getting his life back on track the past several years.

22. At least he died happy with his Grammy. My first thought was
that Tina wouldn't have to ever worry about being beaten again.

15. Not wrong at all. There are people in the world who are not worth the space they
take up, nor the oxygen they consume, and men who beat women are right at the top of that list.

In my opinion anyway. I'm not sure why I despise any man who will hit a woman as much as I do; it's not like my father ever hit my mother...but it makes me fucking crazy. I once, in a public place, got my own ass thoroughly kicked by getting between a woman who was getting slapped around and her husband, who was doing the slapping around.

Turned out he was an ex- professional boxer.

Ouch.

11. Could be, huh?
She might also be suprised at her reaction to his death.

Makes me think of Cher when Sonny died. Chasity said when she called her mom (she was in London along with her sister)it started out with Cher "Oh honey I'm so sorry about dad" to Cher really starting to lose it. Chas said she had to phone her aunt to make sure Cher was ok.

18. "Chasity." I've always wondered at the illiterateness of that name.
Like "Britney." Huh? Were they trying to economize on the number of letters used, or didn't they realize that the proper spelling is "Brittany?"

9. A friend of mine saw him arguing with Phil Spector in a bowling alley years ago.
He made some great music.

16. Wow, I wonder if that was over "River Deep, Mountain High."
The version Ike recorded with Tina was so much better than the one Phil produced.
