6. We're not getting that much, but I'm still taking the day off
I think it'll be rain down here in Phila, but I don't feel like dealing with it --- we're supposed to get that Nor'easter Saturday night though...

The woman who sits in across from my office is from Hazelton, and sent my the following, which you might appreciate if you haven't seen it:

12. I thought you meant Pike as in "Mass Pike" ...
around here, it's used as a weather boundary, for example ...

"Predicting about four to six inches in the Boston area and greater amounts west of the Pike".

14. lived in Western mass for over 40years - north of the "PIKE"
bershire county (Pittsfield), and Franklin/Hampshire county(greenfield, northampton and Orange)

local weather there was delineated as north of the pike or west of 495...

11. told people at work not to expect me today
weather maps showing snow moving into the area where I work (an hour west of where I live)

no snow in my back yard yet, but cloudy and air feels snowy.. should be starting in about an hour..

mixed feelings - happy about having a SNOW DAY off sort of as I brought work home with me, but it also means shoveling the stuff and today at work was a big holiday catered dinner at work so I'm going to miss that...
